Terms of Use

01Acceptance and minimum age

By downloading, installing, or using LiveDirector you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you don't accept them, don't use the product. You must be at least 13 years old; if you're under 18, you need permission from whoever is responsible for you. If you accept on behalf of an organization (a parish, a school, a production company), you represent that you have authority to bind it.

02What LiveDirector is

Two apps that work together. Studio is the mixing console for iPhone, iPad, and Mac: preview, compositions, layers, and TAKE. Camera is free and turns an iOS or Android phone into a remote source. Both communicate over your local network; internet is only needed the moment you broadcast to a remote platform.

03The free tier

Used without an account and without a card: the full mixer, as many remote cameras as the tier allows, all accessories, chat, audio, and local recording of the program. The free tier records up to 20 minutes per file and applies a visible watermark. The only thing a paid plan is required for is broadcasting to a remote platform. We may adjust the free tier's limits with reasonable advance notice.

04Your account

You sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a one-time code sent to your email. You're responsible for keeping access to those methods secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else got in. An account is for one person or organization: don't share it beyond the devices and seats your plan allows.

05Devices and seats

Your plan defines two different numbers, and it's worth not confusing them: how many devices you can have registered, and how many can broadcast at once (the seats). Devices swap freely from your account. If you try to go live with every seat taken, the app will say so and offer to take the seat, ending the other device's session. The exact numbers for each plan are on the pricing page.

06Trial, pricing, and billing

• Current prices are always on the pricing page, in US dollars.

• Paid plans include a 30-day trial with a payment method on file. We email you two days before the first charge, always.

• When the trial ends, the subscription renews automatically for the term you chose, monthly or yearly, until you cancel.

• The price you pay is locked in while your subscription stays active, even if we raise the list price later. If we ever had to change your price, we'd give you at least 30 days' notice and you could cancel first.

• The applicable price is determined by the country of your payment method, and is fixed in your subscription.

• If a charge fails, we retry for a few days and let you know. If it isn't resolved, the subscription is suspended and you return to the free tier. You won't lose any recording over this.

07Cancellation and refunds

• You can cancel anytime from your account, in one click and without writing to anyone.

• If you cancel during the trial, nothing is charged.

• If you cancel with an active subscription, you keep the plan until the end of the period you already paid for; there's no pro-rata refund for the remaining days.

• No-questions refund within the first 7 days of the first charge. After that, case by case: write to us.

• None of the above affects any withdrawal or warranty rights your country's law gives you, which always prevail.

08Taxes and receipts

In Chile we issue an electronic receipt with VAT included in the displayed price. Outside Chile we issue an export invoice, exempt from Chilean tax. If your country requires you to self-assess any digital services tax, that's on you. All your receipts stay available in your account.

09Acceptable use

We trust you; this is the short list of what you can't do:

• Broadcast illegal content or content that infringes third-party rights, including unlicensed music or video.

• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the technical limits of your plan, the license, or seat verification.

• Resell access to your account or provide the service to third parties as if it were yours, absent a written agreement.

• Subject our servers to automated load beyond normal use of the product.

• Decompile or reverse engineer the software, except to the extent the law expressly permits you to.

10What you produce is yours

Your videos, your broadcasts, your recordings, and your graphics are yours, and we claim no rights over them. Nor could we: that content never reaches our servers. The software (Studio, Camera, the brand, and everything running on our side) is ours, and these terms grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use it while you comply with them, nothing more.

11Third-party services

LiveDirector connects to platforms we don't control, and your relationship with each is between you and them:

• YouTube. The integration uses YouTube API Services. By using it, you agree to be bound by the [YouTube Terms of Service](https://www.youtube.com/t/terms), and Google's handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke our access from the Google security permissions page.

• Facebook, Twitch, and any RTMP server. Here we only carry the signal: you paste your stream key, it's stored encrypted on your device, and the feed goes direct. Content and account rules are each platform's own.

• Apple and Google, as sign-in providers and app stores, with their own terms.

• If any of these platforms changes or retires its API, the corresponding feature may stop being available without that being a breach on our part.

12Service availability

We design the product so that an outage on our side doesn't kill your event: the mixer and recording run on your local network without consulting us at all, and the license verifies offline for weeks. The one point that touches our servers, claiming a seat before going live, has a two-second deadline and fails in your favor: if we don't answer, your broadcast starts anyway. That said, we don't promise 100% availability or error-free service, and we recommend testing your setup before an important event.

13Suspension and termination

You can stop using LiveDirector whenever you want by deleting the app and your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms seriously or repeatedly, or if the law requires it. Except in an emergency or under legal order, we notify you first and give you a chance to fix it. If we close your account without any breach on your part, we refund the unused portion of anything you paid in advance.

14Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for missed events, content that didn't make it to air, lost profits, or indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the event. None of this excludes or limits our liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence, nor any non-waivable rights your country's consumer law gives you; in Chile, Law 19.496.

15Changes to the service and these terms

The product evolves: we add features and, occasionally, retire one. If we retire something material from your plan, we give reasonable advance notice and, if it harms you, you can cancel and claim the unused portion. These terms can change too; you'll see the date at the top and, if the change is material, we'll email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the product after that date means accepting them.

16Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Chile and disputes are submitted to the courts of Santiago. If you're a consumer, this doesn't deprive you of going to the courts or consumer authority of your country of residence. If any clause turns out to be invalid, the rest stands. Before any formal claim, write to us: almost everything gets resolved by email.
